Enjoying an enviable position in the south west of Ireland, Tralee benefits from the famous gulf stream that ensures a mild climate all year round and is inevitably a ‘hot spot’ for tourists. Whilst being the perfect location for exploring the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsular, Tralee has plenty to offer the visitor itself with a combination of both modern and historical architecture, lively entertainment and the legendary hospitality of the people.
DAY 1
Arrive in Ireland via Dublin port and head for your hotel in or around Dublin. There is time to allow for a look around the city and later to sample the nightlife of the capital.
DAY 2
A comfortable journey across the Emerald Isle making a suitable stop for lunch en-route, maybe head for Limerick on the banks of the Shannon with its many cafes and bars. Your arrival in Tralee will be late afternoon allowing plenty of time to acquaint yourself with your new surroundings before dinner.
DAY 3
A leisurely day-long drive along the Dingle Peninsular allowing time in Dingle town itself. This scenic drive will take in the dramatic Atlantic coastline and the wild rugged countryside of Slea Head. For those looking to sea, watch out for the dolphins and seals especially around Dingle Bay.
DAY 4
A full day excursion touring the famous Ring of Kerry passing through Killarney, Muckross and the Killarney National Park, witnessing some of the most picturesque and magnificent scenery in the whole of Ireland before arriving at the Kerry Bog Village Museum at Glenbeigh. A historic step back in time to how the Irish forefathers went about their daily life.
DAY 5
It’s a journey back across the country today, and it’s possible to arrive in Dublin early afternoon to make the most of your overnight in the capital. Alternatively take time out at Foynes and the Flying Boat Museum, a fascinating look back at the history of transatlantic aviation and birthplace of the Irish Coffee.
DAY 6
A farewell to Ireland as we head for Dublin port and the morning crossing back to Holyhead.
